With Prince Harry’s imminent ceremony to the beautiful Meghan Markle just a few hours away the whole country has gone completely wedding mad! Any Royal Wedding is a cause to celebrate in my eyes, and that’s exactly what one of London’s top attractions decided to do last night! I was cordially invited to the Royal Stag and Hen Do after hours as part of Madame Tussauds London Lates, where I was able to rub shoulders with the couple of the moment and all of the other fantastic celebrities and household names that were in attendance!
Madame Tussauds lates are held regularly throughout the year (the next ones are the 13th July and 29th September and you can get your tickets here before they all sell out!). At these adult-only evenings you have the chance to skip all of the queues of the regular day sessions and feel like a true VIP with a complimentary glass of prosecco before heading off to explore the hundreds of scarily lifelike A-list wa figures and fun activities that line the inside of this monstrous venue.
We arrived at the venue in good time, just after 7pm and were whisked up in a lift to the main event of the evening where we were able to mingle with some of Hollywood’s top stars including Angelina Jolie and Jonny Depp whilst sipping our prosecco before heading to have our photo taken with the brand new addition to the museum…the future princess, miss Meghan Markle and her Dashing Husband to be! It was crazy how lifelike they were (not that I’ve ever been fortunate enough to see either of them up close in the flesh before but just from images I’ve seen). We had a few weird instances where we couldn’t decide if people were real or wax works. It’s the strangest thing. Kudos to the team that are behind making these works of art. Just wow.
We mingled in this room for a while, scoffing our faces with royal cupcakes and donning a ‘MegHEN’ sash to feel as though we were close friends ready for a party! But then I spotted Tom Hardy and I was immediately drawn towards him. He’s so beautiful.
We grabbed a few selfies (including one with selfie queen Kim Kardashian and her beau Kanye West) before continuing on our adventure throughout the rest of the building… where we got up very close and personal with a certain Tom Hiddleston and I found my long lost twin in the form of E.T.
We then headed down to the next room and perfected a few well known poses with both Mo Farah and Usain Bolt before joining the Royal Family for a balcony shot where I showed off my royal wave (obviously I was practicing in case it didn’t work out between Harry and Meghan).
We also had the chance to become judges on the voice and sit in those famous red spinning chairs before pressing our button for the act that we liked the most, Will.i.am, I’m coming for your job!
There are so many different celebrities dotted all around and it felt as though we had the whole place to ourselves! We didn’t have to queue whatsoever and it also meant that there were no people in the back of our shots, so the late sessions are the Perfect time for they all important photoshoot, or maybe you could cosy up to Cara Delevigne on the red carpet?!
We continued on our tour until we found ourselves at the entrance to Madame Tussauds Ride! I didn’t even know that they had one! It’s called the Spirit of London and you get seated in your very own iconic London Black Cab and get taken on a journey through the capital’s history, you’ll see many historic events such as the fire of London, the Tudors and Winston Churchill! It was definitely a feast for the eyes.
There’s also a section in Madame Tussauds which is voiced by the one and only Beyoncé where you can see just how much detail goes into the creation of these incredible wax figures and how they come to be so lifelike, I found this so interesting and am now just going to wait for my turn to be invited for my wax Mould.
We carried on through the marvel section until we found ourselves at a 4d marvel screening which was a lovely touch, it’s located in the very top of the building and is FAR bigger than I was expecting, but beware, it might not be like any cinema experience you’ve had before as you watch to see if the marvel characters can save the day.
The final area of the tour was Star Wars themed with lots of exciting photo opportunities and amazing scenes and characters to get your final photos before heading home feeling happy about all the new friends you’ve made!
So if you’re looking to head to one of London’s most photographed attractions and feel like a VIP and not have to queue then what are you waiting for! Madame Tussauds Lates is the perfect opportunity to have a fun night with friends whilst mingling with some of the most famous people in the world and then pretending you met them in real person… or is that just me that does that? Find out more on their website!
Thank you so much to Merlin Events for having me, such a lovely evening!
