There are always new ideas and crazes in London that everyone rushes down for to get involved in. The escape room craze has been around for a little while now, but I’d always just assumed I’d be far too hopeless to even attempt to escape from a locked room using nothing but my brain (because let’s face it, there’s not a whole lot going on in there the majority of the time). So when I was invited to test out Lock’d escape rooms I knew my time had come to prove to myself that I could do it. And so I gathered my group of friends and we put on our thinking caps to try and beat the hour on the clock.
I’m always on the hunt for new places to check out or to spend an evening with friends, and a lot of the time I try to opt for something a little bit different to just a bar. Whether it be some crazy cool cocktails or an activity for us to all have a go at, step in Flight Club Darts. We were invited to check out just what this darts joint has to offer!
There’s not much better in life than a dinner party. Food, drink and fun company. What else could you want from a Friday night? And that’s we’re South Place Hotel steps in. A few weeks ago They held Friday night dinner event named The Suckling Pig Dinner, which is just one of the many exciting events that they hold throughout the year. I was very excited to receive an invitation for me and a guest to experience this for myself, and *Spoiler Alert*, it was a fantastic evening of culinary delights!
I’m not completely sure what’s going on with the weather at the moment. It doesn’t seem to know what was going on. However, I’m determined not to let the ever-changing climate keep me from celebrating that it’s finally springtime and that summer is supposedly just around the corner. And with the changing of the seasons it means that the menus at the majority of our favourite bars and restaurants are beginning to change to be more summer-friendly. I was so excited to be invited along to taste the new Spring/Summer menu at Devonshire Terrace along with an incredible cocktail masterclass to learn more about their summer cocktails!
With Prince Harry’s imminent ceremony to the beautiful Meghan Markle just a few hours away the whole country has gone completely wedding mad! Any Royal Wedding is a cause to celebrate in my eyes, and that’s exactly what one of London’s top attractions decided to do last night! I was cordially invited to the Royal Stag and Hen Do after hours as part of Madame Tussauds London Lates, where I was able to rub shoulders with the couple of the moment and all of the other fantastic celebrities and household names that were in attendance!
It’s been a crazy busy few weeks at work but as you may be aware, I like to work hard and play hard. So when I was invited to spend the day at Plate Restaurant in Shoreditch with Ferris Heart Sloane and Jeessica Rose Flowers for a Flower Crown making Workshop & Lunch there was no way I was going to miss it and i’m so glad I didn’t as it was one of the most wonderful afternoons. I met some lovely bloggers, munched on incredible food and came away with my very own flower crown that I made on the day!
I’m not a fan of the gym. I actually sort of despise it a little bit. My life is a monotonous cycle of getting a gym membership, going a few times and then cancelling said membership. I’m much more of a fan of finding something exciting and a little bit more adrenaline boosting than sweating my bum off on a cross trainer or rowing machine. So when I was invited along to try out some rock climbing at with Everyone Active at Westway Sports and Fitness centre I was automatically far more excited than the thought of heading to my local gym, although a little apprehensive of the thought of dangling several metres high and getting stuck in mid air…
Living in London has really opened my eyes to the colossal amount of different cultures that inhabit the city. And a way that I love to explore these cultures is through the numerous varieties of cuisines that line the streets. Each exotic meal I try makes me just want to pack my bags and travel the world to these countries who’s food I enjoy SO much. One of my personal favourites has to be Thai food and so I’ve teamed up with Destination2.co.uk, for their exotic food campaign. They focus on incredible long-haul travel experiences, what better way to try out different cuisines than to actually visit the country itself and delve into their culture whilst trying out their national dishes and delicacies. So, what are you waiting for? begin your culinary adventure and visit the website!
I feel that the idea of bingo to many has been misconstrued as an activity purely for older people. Yet, since moving to London I have realised that this really isn’t the case any more. You may have already seen my post on Bogan Bingo which I attend regularly, BUT It was recently brought to my attention that there are some strong bingo contenders on the scene. I will make it my mission to attend as many of these as I can and report back so we can find out which is the best bingo night in the Capital. And so with that in mind I waddled along to the press and preview night of The Bingo Academy’s latest venture, which takes form in the shape of a pop-up at The Vaults underneath Waterloo Station, which is on until 2nd June!Read More »
If you’re from England and have never walked past or seen a RUSH hair salon then you should probably think about getting your eyesight tested. They’ve just opened their 92nd UK Salon in Dalston and to celebrate they’ve been hosting a group-wide campaign in which they’ve been inviting bloggers to try out some of their venues across London! (*does a happy dance*). I was lucky enough to be among those invited, thank goodness as my hair was in dire need of some serious help!
Have you ever been to an event or party that was out of this world unreal? I did, back in 2016 when Brockmans Gin held a dinner party in Shoreditch’s Village Underground and it was a night ‘Like No Other’. You can read more about this HERE. I still speak about that event and remember how incredible it was, so when I had the chance to revisit Brockmans to celebrate their incredible Gin in this years set of events called #PressForGin, there really was no way I was going to miss it. Here’s how the night unfolded…
In my eyes, cheese is one of the great wonders of the world. I don’t know what I’d do with my life if cheese was never invented. I feel incredibly sorry for those who can’t eat the glorious stuff as a staple part of their diet. So when I heard that Rascals in Shoreditch holds a weekly cheese party, I simply HAD to get myself a ticket and gear up for possibly the cheesiest night of my life.
Since when did adventure & exploration have to involve jumping on a plane to travel far away? The definition of exploring is to travel through (an unfamiliar area) in order to learn about it, and in my eyes some of the most experiences are right on your doorstep…you might just have to look a little harder to find them.
I’ve lived in London for just over a year and a half and always find myself heading to the exact same spots because I know what’s there and how to navigate my way around. So when I was asked by Treasure Trails if I was interested in doing a treasure hunt around London I jumped at the chance to go on a little adventure and to find new areas to visit – along with learning a little background and some interesting facts about this very special city!
In recent years, yoga has become rapidly more popular and many people have begun to incorporate yoga into their modern lifestyle and it’s very apparent that the health benefits of yoga stretch further than I originally thought and it’s far more than just helping to rid the body of stress.
You may have already heard of various alternative styles of yoga such as Bikram (you’ll most definitely work up a sweat if you sign up for this), Aerial Yoga (this looks fun hanging from the air whilst you stretch) and there’s even dog yoga, where you can meditate and work out alongside your pet pooch! BUT. The other night I attended a new class that ensures you have a whole lot of fun whilst learning the yoga basics and getting a little hot and sweaty whilst shimmying to some of the best boogie tunes. STEP IN DISCO YOGA. Read More »
Everyone’s heard of cabaret, and although it can often come across as cheesy if not executed probably, this is far from the case of The London Cabaret Club located close to Holborn in the beautiful ballroom at Victoria house. We headed down at the weekend to see their latest venture, London Never Dies and it really was a great night, it’s great to experience something completely different from your usual Saturday night out in the centre of the city. And what’s more, with Valentine’s Day coming up they’re putting on a romantic version of the show called Love Never Dies!
